Second Cook
Our restaurant El Patio is developing very strongly with a proposal of seasonal, healthy and excellent quality cuisine.
This year, to accompany this growth, we are looking for a talented person with a passion for cooking and organisation. As a second, you will be the Chef’s right hand. You will assist and replace her when she is absent. We are looking for a profile that can contribute ideas, that knows HACCP rules very well and that has experience in coordinating the team and orchestrating a service.
Reporting to: Head of Kitchen
Processes in which he/she is involved: Kitchen, Breakfast, Quality, Green
Duties:
Replaces the chef in her absence, is in charge of the operational part of the kitchen.
Supervision and preparation of the menu
Checking that the staff works according to the mise en place sheet and with a correct organisation.
Follow up the activities of the cooks and other staff.
Delegating tasks.
Ensure the smooth running of the kitchen area.
Guide the cooks and help them.
Fill in the kitchen inspection and maintenance protocol sheets in the absence of the chef.
Estimate the needs to be covered each day or week (orders, arrangements, etc.).
Verify the quality of the ingredients to be used and of all the products on the menu.
Supervise the optimal handling of the food.
Work with the chef in the elaboration of the menu and its corresponding suggestions.
Place orders in the absence of the chef, placing orders via telephone/email.
Clean their work area and check that the staff is clean and organised correctly.
Informing the chef of any incorrect occurrences, conflicts etc. that occur in order to try a conciliatory solution to the matter.
Training required for the position:
Training in cooking.
3 years experience as a cook.
Spanish: Level C1 (Superior command).
Food handler.
Good control of the HACCP system.
Other languages will be valued.
Computer skills at user level.
